Shineon sharing the health lighting concept

On October 25th, the 15th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLCHINA 2018) and the 2018 International

Forum on Wide Bandgap Semiconductors China (IFWS 2018) were successfully closed at the Shenzhen Convention and

Exhibition Center. SSL CHINA and IFWS 2018 are hosted by China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA), China Advanced

Semiconductor Industry Innovation Alliance (CASA), and Longhua District of Shenzhen Municipal. It has attracted the

participation of many authoritative experts and institutions and industrial organizations at home and abroad relating to the

technology and application of wide band gap semiconductor. 

 

 

The forum also invited authoritative experts to make speeches, and shared their latest research results. Among them, the inventor of the blue LED, the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics, Mr. Nakamura made a keynote speech on LED's future directions.

Ms. Wu Ling, Secretary-General of China Solid State Lighting Alliance, made a review on China Solid State Lighting and

third-generation semiconductor industry and looking forward the future, also invited Umesh K.MISHRA, a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, Wang Tao, a professor at the University of Sheffield, and Victor VELIADIS, the chief

technology officer of the US Electric Power, to give a keynote speech on the progress of third-generation semiconductor

GaN/SiC research. Based on the original chapter, the chapter “Light Quality and Lighting for Health” and “Technologies for Micro LED and Novel Display”, to share the latest developments and research results in this industry and consumers'

general concern.

 

 

Dr. Guoxu Liu, Executive Vice President and CTO of Shineon Corp., attended the forum as a session chair of the

“Technologies for LED Chip, Packaging and Modules” and “Technologies for Micro LED and Novel Display” chapters, on the Micro LED and Novel Display session. he thinks semiconductor light emission devices are the fundamental of display and

solid-state lighting. Novel display and lighting technologies have been well developed these years because of systematically

investigation of various light emitting devices, and offer a bright future of versatile applications of information display and

lighting. The devices for novel display and lighting include: Micro-LED, Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs), Quantum

Dot LEDs (QLEDs), LIMO laser, Perovskite LEDs (PerLEDs), and other novel semiconductor lighting emitting device, Micro-

LED have been deepening particularly rapidly in recent years. Key technologies of these devices include: light emitting

efficiency, working voltage, color rendering index, stability and reliability, Thermal Technology, etc. In terms of sys

application, novel backplane, drive and control circuit, panel manufacturing process, laser-related technologies, etc.,

progress of these technologies is very important to novel displays and lighting technologies. In terms of LED package, With the development of LED lighting and its control technology, people begin to pursuit excellent optical quality to achieve the

goals of health and color quality. LED light source is compact, easy to control and adjustable which provides opportunities

and challenges for providing lighting with good well-being and visual comfort, respectively. With the expanding of

application requirements, it has important significance in upgrading LED light quality and providing better lighting

environment by optimizing LED lighting and its control system and by using them in light environment design of indoor and outdoor. More recently, due to in-depth study on the mechanism of the effect of light on human health and the success of

LED device development, application of LED in daily life and medical light have increased becoming a new blue ocean of

LED application.But it still needs further discussion on the role and impact of visual development and visual physiology etc. A lot of problems on the device research and development are still needed further study by industry experts. As tor color

quality it is described to achieve visual perception of preference, vividness, naturalness, attractiveness, color discrimination, etc. beyond a certain level of color fidelity.

At this international conference, Shineon was invited to participate in two chapters and give a speech respectively and take part in a standard discussion on light source like sunlight. In these two chapters, the topics of Shineon are "Quantitative

analysis of full spectrum LEDs for high quality lighting" and "Comparison of two LED spectrum engineering approaches for

horticulture lighting". The keynote speech on the full spectrum analysis of high-light quality was unanimously recognized by experts and participants in the industry. Prof. Tongsheng Mou and Professor Ming Luo gave high evaluations respectively,

and say Shineon truly achieved product definition and theoretical research to final product development. covered the full

chain. At the same time, the definition of Sun-like LEDs for high quality lighting and methods for evaluating the light

sources’ color quality, spectral continuity, and eye-safety are proposed, which makes it possible to achieve a quantitative

evaluation for liking sunlight. sun-like lighting LEDs is defined as what simulates reference sources (incandescent light or

daylight) with continuous spectrum, exhibiting better spectral continuity in the wavelength range and radiant energy. At the Bio-Agricultural Lighting Technology Branch, Shineon shared the comparison of the spectrum realization methods of plant

lighting, analysis of advantages and disadvantages, and launched a full range of plant lighting solutions for shineon.

 

 

Dr. Liu was invited to share shineon’s concept of sun-like LED at the standard-Symposium

 

During the conference, Shineon was invited by the CSA Standards Committee to participate in the first standard seminar on “The definition and evaluation method of sun-like LED terminology”. Dr. Guoxu Liu, CTO of Shineon, fully explained the

research establishment of theoretical and quantitative evaluation methods by shineon studied 3 years in this field, and

recommendations for the evaluation criteria of sun-like light sources and highly appreciated by the participating experts.
