ShineOn and Toyoda Gosei Optoelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Signed Sublicensing Agreement of White LED Patents

 July 22^nd, 2015, Beijing, ShineOn (Beijing) technology Co. Ltd. (“ShineOn”) and Toyoda Gosei Optoelectronics (Shanghai)

Co., Ltd. (“TGOSH”) held a signing ceremony of a license agreement regarding silicate-based white LED patent (“White LED Patents”). Through this agreement ShineOn obtains White LED Patents license in areas including Japan, United States of

America, Europe, Austria, Russia, China (including Taiwan), Korean, India, Malaysia, etc. This will help ShineOn to market

its products to international customers and become a global player in LED industry.

Alliance (CSA) were present at the ceremony. Leaders of Beijing Development Area and strategic partners and customers

representatives of ShineOn also attended the event.

 “Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., parent company of TGOSH., is a global technology leader in LED industry and holds fundamental

patents on white conversion with blue LED and silicate phosphor together with three Europe companies, Tridonic

Jennersdorf GmbH of Austria、Leuchtstoffwerk Breitungen GmbH and Litec GbR of Germany.” said Sugiura-san, “To ensure fair competition in development and marketing of quality high-brightness LED, TGOSH takes reasonable approaches to

protect its proprietary technology while adopting proactive measures with its intellectual property. Choosing Shineon for

patent sublicensing is because we value ShineOn’s persistent innovation in LED packaging technology and Shineon’s respect to other third party’s intellectual property.”

 “We are glad to obtain White LED patents license from TGOSH. Through this agreement, ShineOn becomes a member of

the LED manufactures licensed with White LED Patents and will provide indemnification to our customers. This agreement

will also serve as foundation for future collaboration between TGOSH and ShineOn.” said Dr. Frank Fan.

Ruan Jun made a brief speech at the ceremony. “Research on intellectual property of solid-state lighting and patent pool

are always key part of CSA effort. Strengthening patent strategy and collaboration with world leaders are effective

measures to overcome the white LED patent barrier.” He congratulates TGOSH and ShineOn on this cooperative move.

Dr. Jay Liu at the end delivered a keynote speech to the audients on ShineOn strategies on patent and globalization.

ShineOn is focused on R&D, manufacturing and marketing of LED devices. It provides products for markets ranging from

general lighting, LCD backlighting, camera flash, and etc. ShineOn holds about one hundred patents both in China and other countries. According to Dr. Liu, ShineOn is capable providing comprehensive white LED solutions through its patent

strategy, sublicense, and collaboration on intellectual property. It promotes value-add products and core competitiveness to its backend customers. It will certainly boost oversea market penetration by ShineOn customers.
